Sue Trainor

A few things about Sue:

“Imagine a space that will make you smile” were words I would hear my dad tell his clients. He was an architectural engineer and encouraged me to think about a design career but I focused on the business end instead.

I graduated with a degree in Business and Marketing, with a minor in design. After years in the corporate world and a company downsizing, I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to become a designer for Closet Works, almost 10 years ago. Attention to detail and good listening skills, learned from my previous sales job, transitioned well into my design career. The favorite part of my job is the time I spend with my clients, getting them involved and helping them imagine their perfect space. I love working for a company whose mission is making everyone a “Raving Fan”. Closet Works has strong name recognition and a reputation for providing clients with the highest level of customer service. Everything that is promised and expected is delivered. It makes my job easy and our success is measured by a happy customer.

Featured Project:  Entertainment Center/Home Office

I was lucky to be one of the winners for a design of an office/entertainment center in the 2009 Top Shelf awards. The challenge was to come up with a design for a basement family room that could accommodate different ceiling heights as well as cover an old brick fire place behind the TV. In the upper right section over the desk there are several utiilty boxes and wires completely hidden in the cabinets. It was easy to be creative, given such a large open space to work with. The beauty of our system is that everything is custom, so it wasn’t a problem, using different depths and heights to achieve the plan we needed to cover the obstacles. The design added alot of interest.

The client picked a bisque laminate, with portabella glazed fronts, crown and base moulding. The top is in a coffee bean color Staron material which complimented the glaze. The client was thrilled with the project and had plenty of workspace for her entire family, and a matching entertainment center for half the cost of solid wood.
