Closet Works earns coveted Angie's List Super Service Award

Closet Works is awarded the 2010 Angie's List Super Service Award Closet Works has been awarded the prestigious 2010 Angie’s List Super Service Award, an honor bestowed annually on approximately 5% of all the companies rated.

“Our Super Service Award winners are the cream of the crop when it comes to providing consistently high quality customer service, as judged by the customers who hired them,” said Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List.

This is the 7th Super Service Award for Closet Works since 2002, a company that excels in building sanctuary and order for Chicagoland homes for more than two decades, setting the standard in premium custom closets and personal spaces. They can make any space fit any need. From walk-in closets to garages, mudrooms, home offices, entertainment centers and pantries there's little they can't do.

In the years past, Closet Works received the Super Service Award in the Closets category. This year, they received the award in 2 categories – Closets and Home & Garage Organization – making them a 2-category contender. “Not a small feat for all of us here at Closet Works. We all worked really hard to achieve such standard in excellence”, says Closet Works President Mike Carson.

In order to be eligible, Angie’s List Super Service Award winners must met strict requirements including earning a minimum number of reports, an exemplary rating from their customers and abiding by Angie’s List operational guidelines.

Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie’s List, but members can find the 2010 Super Service Award logo next to company names in search results on AngiesList.com.

How To "Get More Stuff" Into Your Closets

Get more "stuff" into your closets! Tips to help you organize your custom closet from Carol Kirkland, Closet Design expert at Closet Works in Chicago.

A Closet Renovation of Historic Proportions

Jane's Custom ClosetThe goal of this custom closet was to create a new dressing room within a 100-year old home.

The challenges were a combination of a phased installation and some obstacles that included floor-heating mechanics.

I worked with this delightful client through five sets of revisions until we came up with the perfect combination of a nutmeg stained cherry with traditional-style, raised panel fronts, reeded glass and Windsor crown molding.

Jane's Custom Closet IslandThe bases of the closet had to be installed first. Then the granite measurements were taken so a template could be created for the top. Once the granite was put in place, we finished our work with the upper cabinets.

Some sections had to be suspended above the heating elements so we used tabbed cleats behind the backer.

And this all took place while my leg was wrapped in a full length cast from being broken during a simple outside venture to fill my bird feeders.

This all-star client came to my house twice to go over revisions because I wasn’t able to drive! The lesson for me in having the privilege of working on this award winning project with such an award winning client is that you have to be prepared for anything and ready to maximize design space even under unusual circumstances, because sometimes things can be slippery!
