A Custom Garage with Specialty Storage

Garage by Closet WorksThe client had a large 3-car garage, but was not able to store 3 cars.  One garage bay was totally filled with items to be stored.

Included in this request was the need to have 2 refrigerators, store 6 bicycles and a sculpture of a cow that was purchased at a Chicago art auction.  If you're from Chicago, you get it!

The goal was to get everything off the floor so the 3rd car could get in.  In addition to the typical garage inventory, the client had 16 (24X48) dining room table leaves that needed to be stored.  Table Leaf - Garage - Closet WorksTheir dining room table was hand-made by the client's father and therefore a priceless possession.

These leaves needed to be stored flat as putting them on their side would cause them to bow.  After working with the client through a set of revisions, the cow was displaced to the yard and instead we included a place for a table and chair, where grandmother can sit comfortably and indulge in her smoking habit.  The garage is heated, quite comfortable and now totally organized so Grandmother feels quite at home in her new space.

For the table leaves Lynn designed a cabinet that was 50X24 deep.  It included 16 interior shelves with metal stiffeners to minimize any bowing.  Each shelf was velvet lined to prevent any scratches to the leaves.
